'Minions' Edges Out 'Ant-Man' on Wednesday; 'Trainwreck' Keeps Chugging Along

Universal reports that Minions retained first place on Wednesday with another $5.17 million, off 55 percent from the same day last week. The prequel's domestic tally stands at $234.74 million through 13 days of play, putting it on par with the 13-day pace of Despicable Me 2 ($234.0 million).

Holding onto second place was Marvel's Ant-Man, taking in $5.12 million yesterday. The 12th installment of the MCU has brought in $76.6 million in its first six days, 11 percent behind the pace of Captain America: The First Avenger and 8 percent ahead of The Incredible Hulk.

Universal's Trainwreck took third on Wednesday with $3.32 million. The breakout Amy Schumer comedy has earned $41.13 million in its first six days, putting it 4 percent behind the pace of Knocked Up and 15.5 percent ahead of Bridesmaids.

In fourth place, Inside Out eased 41 percent from last Wednesday to $1.53 million yesterday. The latest Pixar blockbuster has banked $311.5 million up to this point, 21 percent more than Up achieved through the same point in release.

Filling out the top five, Jurassic World was off 40.5 percent from last week to $1.31 million yesterday. With $615.64 million in the bank now, the film remains almost 7 percent ahead of the pace of Marvel's The Avengers.
