Sony's The Perfect Guy took in $1.90 million on Tuesday to remain in first place at the daily box office. The low-budget thriller from Screen Gems starring Sanaa Lathan, Michael Ealy and Morris Chestnut was up 12.5 percent over Monday's performance. The Perfect Guy continues to exceed expectations and perform very nicely with its cost in mind with a five-day take of $29.48 million. That places the film a healthy 6.5 percent ahead of the $27.68 million five-day start of last year's No Good Deed.

Universal's The Visit held steady in a very close second place with $1.86 million. The low-budget M. Night Shyamalan directed horror thriller from Blumhouse Productions trailed The Perfect Guy by just $47,635 for the day. The Visit increased 15 percent over Monday. The film has grossed a stronger than expected $28.89 million in five days. The Visit is currently running 32 percent ahead of the $21.90 million five-day take of 2006's Lady in the Water.

Sony's War Room grossed $1.01 million on Tuesday to remain in third. The break-out Kendrick Brothers produced faith based film from TriStar and AFFIRM Films was up 30 percent over Monday and down only 11 percent from last Tuesday. War Room has grossed a strong $41.36 million in 19 days and isn't showing signs of slowing down any time soon. The film is running 21.5 percent ahead of the $34.03 million 19-day gross of last year's God's Not Dead.

A Walk in the Woods continued to claim fourth with an estimated $0.70 million. The Robert Redford led comedy from Broad Green Pictures has grossed a stronger than expected $21.16 million through two weeks of release. A Walk in the Woods is currently running 7 percent behind the $22.77 million two-week take of 2011's The Debt.

Late summer blockbusters Straight Outta Compton and Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation claimed fifth and sixth place on Tuesday with respective daily takes of $0.450 million and $0.438 million. Respective total grosses stand at $188.90 million for Paramount's Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation through 47 days and at $156.35 million for Universal's Straight Outta Compton through 33 days.
